Welcome to COMSIS, the Community Services Information System. COMSIS has been developed by Queensland Government Statistician's Office (QGSO), Queensland Treasury, for the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services. The development of COMSIS and its release to the human services sector (the sector) is part of the Department's commitment to information sharing, and to strengthen the way the sector identifies and responds to community needs.
In order to support those most in need, the department has developed a method to identify and rank the high priority groups-locations across Queensland using a combination of measures of disadvantage, need and risk (DNR). Provision of the DNR Rankings through COMSIS presents the sector with access to the outputs of internal research and analysis, without incurring any of the costs associated with research and analysis activity; or, contravening current data agreements with other government agencies. Further information relating to DNR cound be found in the What is the DNR ranking.
If you have any queries regarding the use of COMSIS, email the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services.
Further information on analytical methods for use with these data are available on the QGSO web site.
